The 2008 Meeting will be hosted by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a world leader in research, teaching and public service. The university is distinguished by the breadth of its programs, academic excellence and internationally renowned faculty. Its College of Engineering, ranked 5th in the nation, is home to 12 outstanding departments, including Aerospace Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Science and Engineering (MechSE), and Physics. A proud sponsor of SES 2008, MechSE offers strong research and education programs in both mechanical engineering and theoretical and applied mechanics, and is home to two NSF-funded research centers.
About SES
The Society of Engineering Science fosters and promotes the exchange of ideas and information among the various disciplines of engineering and the fields of physics, chemistry, mathematics, bioengineering and related scientific and engineering fields. The organization is comprised of scientists, engineers and mathematicians from around the world who recognize that solutions to critical modern problems transcend traditional disciplinary boundaries. SES Conferences are recognized as leading forums for bringing together diverse, interdisciplinary groups of researchers to discuss advances in highly focused symposia.
